My name is Tanesha Trippett, I started Jacobs Catering in 2016 in Philadelphia, PA. I am one of many cooks in my family. The best cooks in my family were born and raised in Savannah, Georgia. This is the place where my palate was developed. I have experienced authentic Southern 'comfort foods', from deep frying outdoors, to steaming fresh seafood, as well as creating smoky, grilled foods. With the rise in vegan cuisine, I also create delicious and robust vegetable dishes.

November of 2019, I opened Brotherly Grub Brunch Cafe. October of 2020 Brotherly Grub Brunch Cafe was nominated as the best black-owned brunch cafe in Philadelphia and was spotlighted by Bud Light, NBC10, and Philadelphia Eagles.

My inspiration comes from my mother, aunts, and grandmother. The women in my family have always offered top-notch southern hospitality. They've made delicious home-cooked meals and desserts that were made with love, time, and care. These women would sell platters and desserts to the men that worked in the fields and on ships while they were at work. These women were unable to cook professionally due to the racial and sexist divide in the South. I want to take their core values and do what they could not. What better place to offer than 'The City of Brotherly Love'?

I opened Brotherly Grub food truck in 2017 to add mobility to my catering services initially. In 2018 after opening Brotherly Grub I decided to start vending with hopes to market my mobile catering business. I secured contracts with Parks and Recreating and Fairmount Park Conservancy. The cuisine sold on the truck is Southern-inspired Philly foods like Smoked Brisket and Cauliflower cheesesteaks. I secured vending sites located at the most visited attractions in the City of Philadephia- Philadelphia Museum of Art and Love Par.
